Beardless and full of life We rode down on our bikes To the old railroad station Everyday the same old shelves Freshbooks to fantasize ourselves A brand new world's temptations We gambled our names and won A paper castle to build for fun We were dubbed the Knights of Cardstock Defenders of the Writes of Heart Aught Brandishing exacto swords and rubber band slings Against the cubicle creatures with the ninety five wings Nothing could defeat us within our walls Our paper castle standing tall Step by step and page by page You were the instruction sage I just kinda watched with elation Instead of mortar and bricks Hot glue and popsicle sticks A Print Kingdom came to creation Each peasant the size of a pin We were rulers of every inch We were dubbed the Knights of Cardstock Defenders of the Writes of Heart Aught Brandishing exacto swords and rubber band slings Against the cubicle creatures with the ninety five wings Nothing could defeat us within our walls Our paper castle standing tall The problem with paper is that it tears We start to grow up and grow facial hair We traded our two wheels for four Let those dragons knock down the door We are given a supply of cardstock Pretenders then, now we watch the clock We traded our fun and imaginary guns For a pile of paper green ones I’ll always remember a time That these hours can’t fill You and I and our paper castle

Scenic Route 03:38
Let's take the scenic route up to the mountain top. Although it's miles away, no, we ain't gonna stop. Grey eyes and dark skies That's the price to pay to see the sunrise 8 wanderers with restless souls Musician and a poet, writer and a preacher Driver and a dancer, lumberjack and dreamer All searching for the same thing With former limb of tree in hand No map or compass but a rough plan They set off on foot for the hill Singing Let's take the scenic route up to the mountain top. Although it's miles away, no, we ain't gonna stop. Mossy stone walls and half a roof A dirt floor trampled under hoof They called it home for the morning They unpacked the back-packed rucksack And tighten the hammocks slack While the flames ate their fill of feed They kept their eyes on the horizon Watchin' the dance of the sun Together they stood, ready for the world Let's take the scenic route up to the mountain top. Although it's miles away, no, we ain't gonna stop. They didn’t find what they were looking for on the top of the hill But in their companions and the morning still They found the Father in the midst of the clouds For His love will always shine through the shroud Let's take the scenic route up to the mountain top. Although it's miles away, no, we ain't gonna stop. Brothers and Sisters, here we go Let's take the scenic route up to the mountain top.

She says she’s jealous of the pillows I hold “It should be your arms keeping out the cold And these cozy fleece blankets that wrap me up Could never really be enough.” Wisconsin winters can be chilly But you know that I always will be The one to grab your hand and twirl you around To kiss your lips when they turn to a frown To hold you close in the frigid air To run my fingers through your tangled hair No matter the snow storms I will keep you warm With just a little magic, we took a trip south To a fairy tale kingdom, ruled by a mouse She gets excited by the fireworks gleam I couldn’t stop smiling when I got to a knee I love you more than words can say Won’t you spent the rest of your life with me? Wisconsin winters can be chilly But you know that I always will be The one to grab your hand and twirl you around To kiss your lips when they turn to a frown To hold you close in the frigid air To run my fingers through your tangled hair No matter the snow storms I will keep you warm

There once was a son who said “Dad I wish you were dead I want my inheritance now!” The Father could have said “Now son just go to bed Tomorrow your only friend will be the plow” But instead With hands and tongue like lead He gave his son the share deserved The son took it all and fled A big town to lay his head Wasted wealth and want, new masters he serves As he dines with swine, he whines “I wanna go home! But how could I? How could he?” How could he love me after all that I have done? How could I be his heir? How could he call me “son”? How could I come to his table Eat and drink to my fill? I'm surely not able. How could he love me still? The Father watched the road Hoping his son would show No sign of him for a such a long while See there! Moving slow He jumped up and he started to go The son watched his father run a mile The father held him close Kissed his face even though The stench was putrid and vile The tears fly from eyes he cries “I’m finally home; But my debt is still owed Make me a slave of your own” How could you love me after all that I have done? How could I be your heir? How could you call me “son”? How could I come to your table eat and drink to my fill? I'm surely not able. Just then the father interrupted “I have waited many days for your return Dear son your mind has been corrupted My love is not something you can earn” I will always love you Though I know what you’ve done You’re my child, my heir My dear beloved son Come to my table Eat and drink to your fill You surely are able How could I not love you still?

We all have times in our lives when we move from one thing to the next; a period of transition. Produced for my senior project, this album is for the most transitional period of my life.

Never stop moving forward.
